Group I is intended for 9th graders through 11th graders.  Comfort with a broad spectrum of mathematical topics, such as the pigeonhole principle, mathematical induction, geometry, number theory, algebra, etc. is strongly suggested.  Topics will be similar to those in Group S, but the problems will be more challenging.  Additional topics will include trigonometry, complex numbers, and others.  Students who are on their high schools’ math teams should be in this group (unless they qualify for Group A  and choose to join that group instead). Please Note: Students who want to be in Group I can choose to be accepted into that class by taking the Group A take-home exam and by being awarded 20 points.

Exams for the 2014 - 2016 seasons are available as practice exams.
