Behzad Mehrdad grew up in Tehran, Iran. He earned gold medal at the International Math Olympiad in his senior year of high school. As an undergraduate, Behzad won a Second Price (2007) and a First Prize (2008) at the International Mathematics Competition for University Students, as well as two national gold medals at an Iranian mathematical competition for undergraduate students. Behzad hopes to share his passion for mathematics and problem solving through his teaching. His experience includes a math summer camp in Iran and two classes at the Center for Mathematical Talent at Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at NYU.
Behzad holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and a B.Sc. in Mathematics from Sharif University of Technology, and a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics from New York University. His field of concentration was Probability Theory, and he has been working in finance since graduation in 2014.
