Admissions

Admission test registration for the 2017 – 2018 season is under way.

This year we are offering entrance exams in both May and September. May and September exams will be different, so students will have a second chance at admission in September if they do not pass an exam in May.

Prospective students should review the description of each Group listed below. Please carefully select the most appropriate Group exam. We’ve posted past exam questions and solutions for each Group – you can find these historical exams on each Group’s webpage:

To apply for admission into any Group, students must sign up for an exam using the link below.

Math-M-Addicts Entrance Exam Sign-Up Form

Students applying for admission into Groups Y, S, and I must first submit the Exam Sign-Up Form, and then appear in person to take the entrance exam.

Students applying for admission into Group A must first submit the Exam Sign-Up Form, download the entrance exam available on the Group A webpage, and follow instructions to complete and submit the test for evaluation. Group A exams will be available for download on May 6th and are due by May 20th. Note, that if you take the Group A exam and solve at least one problem, you will automatically qualify for Group I, even if you don't qualify for Group A.

Please note that students may opt to gain admission into Group I by taking the take-home Group A exam and by being awarded 20 points, rather than sitting for the Group I exam.

If you have any questions, please email us at admissions@mathmaddicts.com or phone us at (929) 324-0456.

Exam location: The Speyer Legacy School, 925 Ninth Avenue @ 59th Street.

Exam description:

Prospective students are not expected to be able to solve every problem on the entrance exam, but they should submit solutions to as many problems as they can. Solutions should be written as clearly and as rigorously as possible. Complete solutions with correct reasoning will receive more points than merely correct answers. Partial credit will be given for incomplete solutions. Passing scores vary each year across Groups and from year to year.

Students who have not signed up online for an exam date will not be admitted to the test.

Notifications:

Students who pass the entrance exam will be contacted by email with an offer of admission into the program. Specific Group placement will be at the discretion of the program Directors.

Returning students are expected to take the entrance exam each year in order to continue attending the program.

Tuition:

The cost of the program is $225 per semester / $400 per year and is refundable after the first class.

Tuition Payment:

Admitted students will receive an email regarding how to submit payment for the semester. For any questions, please email info@mathmaddicts.com

Financial Aid:

Math-M-Addicts offers two types of merit-based scholarships:
      I.         Full tuition and transportation scholarships to students who qualify for the Federal WIC Program
II.        Tuition scholarships for students with other demonstrated need

Our financial aid program guarantees that all students who pass our entrance exam are able to join our community regardless of family income. Potential financial aid students need to sign up for and take an entrance exam.
