Luis O'Shea

Luis O'Shea grew up in Dublin, Ireland. He came first in the Irish Mathematical Olympiad and represented Ireland in the 1988 International Mathematical Olympiad in Canberra, Australia -- the first time Ireland participated in the IMO. Although he started life as an engineer, he graduated from University College Dublin with a BSc in Mathematical Science (mathematics and theoretical physics). He has a PhD in mathematics from Cornell University and now works in finance.
